THE TEAM
Who makes Yakkamon?
Yakkamon is not a first attempt. It is built by the same team that created and still runs Sunflower Land, one of the longest-running and most-played on-chain games there is.
We have been shipping a live game with a real economy, real players and real money on the line for over five years. Yakkamon is what we are building next.
The track record
| 1,000,000+ | players have played Sunflower Land |
|---|---|
| Game3 Awards | People's Choice winner |
| 100+ | open source contributors |
| 5+ years | of live, open source building |
Over a million players
Sunflower Land has been played by more than a million players. We have built for real players at real scale, through bull markets and bear markets, through launches, seasons, and everything that breaks along the way.
People's Choice, Game3 Awards
Sunflower Land won the People's Choice award at the Game3 Awards, voted for by players rather than a panel. That is the award we care about most, because it is the one the community decides.
100+ open source contributors
Over 100 contributors have shipped code into Sunflower Land. Our players do not just play the game - a lot of them help build it. Features, fixes, translations and art have all come from the community, and that is by design.
Five years building in the open
Our code is public, our roadmap is public, and our economy runs where anyone can inspect it. Five years is a long time in web3 gaming, and most projects do not make it past their first season.
Why this matters for Yakkamon
Launching a game is easy. Running one is hard. A pre-registration campaign is only worth your time if the team behind it will still be here at launch, and long after it.
- We have done this before. Sunflower Land is live right now, and has been for years.
- We are not launching a new token. Yakkamon reuses $FLOWER, already at the centre of our existing game economy.
- We build with our community. The same open, contributor-driven approach that built Sunflower Land is how Yakkamon is being built.
- We stick around. Five years of continuous operation is our answer to "will this project still exist next year?"
Sunflower Land is not slowing down either. It is on a committed two-year roadmap, and both games share the same team, the same foundations and the same token.
Credits and collaborators
We work with a range of third-party contractors, artists and designers. Yakkamon's world is inspired by the Sunnyside asset pack, and we have privately contracted and collaborated with Sunnyside artist Daniel Diggle on the monster designs and the HD UI art.
